Hokkaido Ramen Santouka, based on the intent of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereafter the "Personal Information Protection Law"), which stipulates that personal information be protected in a advanced information and communications-oriented society, is cognizant of the importance of protecting personal information and privacy, appropriately handles personal information and works to protect it. Personal information acquired for news purposes is exempt from the Personal Information Protection Law to avoid infringing on the freedom of reporting and expression. In keeping with journalistic ethics, we pledge even more discretion than we have ever exercised before in our handling of personal information acquired for news purposes.
